Found this, frankly awesome, brown on brown Buick LaCrosse Super on CL. Car seems great but the owners claim isn’t exactly right.
According to a few sources in 5 minutes of googling, the LaCrosse Super Sport does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, and a 1/4 miles I. 14.2 seconds.
The Buick Grand Nations does it in 5.6 and 15 flat . respectively.
Also if you like brown as much as I do check this out.

Had no idea they were even available with V8s. I do...strangely like it. Then again I have a soft spot for Buicks and Oldsmobiles.

So it is the fastest then?
I mean it beats the GN by almost a full second in the quarter and I’d bet it has a far higher top speed.
Wouldn’t that mean their claim is technically correct?
Either way:

The seller is actually correct. The top speed of the LaCrosse Super is state d to be 150 mph whereas a Grand National tops out at 124mph.

The current Regal GS is quicker and faster
13.9@101 mph in the quarter and 155 mph top speed.

It even has the LS designation. It’s an LS4.
They are not kind to their fragile transmission though. The 4t65 just can’t handle the output.
The car is on the W platform, so it is basically the same as the monte carlo ss, grand prix gtp, and impala ss in their last generation.

Late night typeo. The GN was said to do a 1/4 mile in 14 seconds.

But that was just a computer limitation not actually a gearing or power problem

I want to stance the hell out of it.

Now maybe, in 08 this was that fastest Buick to date.

Looking it up it seems C&D tested it at 13.4 secs in the quarter!
Meaning the GNX still holds the fastest Buick title.
Even so, I would gladly take a Lacrosse Super for a daily cruiser.

For 7 grand it’s not a bad car. Altho I’ve driven an Impala SS with the same drivetrain and it was incredibly boring. Altho I think the Lacrosse is smaller so potentially lighter and faster.

From what I’ve gathered, the Lacrosse Super is like the Impala SS, only better in every way.
I still want one in the worst way, I can’t get the wife to bite though...

“Fastest B uick production car ever built* ” * that you -a regular human- can actually buy.
We are at a fun place when $7k cars on Craigslist are effectively as fast as the legends of old.
Also since this is an LS motor I’m guessing there’s room for bolt on improvement ...

I’m sure a supercharger wouldn’t be hard to add. Altho you maybe have to stick t out of the hood, but that’s not really a bad thing is it

That’s a good point. You can’t have a GNX or old school Regal GS 455 for 7k. Probably going to have to quadruple that number to get a decent one.

That’s a shame, cos there’s a couple near me for less than $5k Canadian...
24hrs of Lemons may have to introduce restricted plates soon at this rate...

There are companies that will rebuild them tougher so they can take the stock output. But more power could still kill the upgraded unit.
